Ethiopia Chelelektu

This fully washed coffee comes from the Chelelektu Washing Station in Kochere, where more than 650 smallholder farmers—most working plots of less than two hectares—deliver carefully harvested cherry. After meticulous sorting and pulping, the coffee ferments for 36 to 48 hours before being thoroughly washed, density-graded, and slowly dried on raised beds for up to two weeks. Chelelektu sits among the highest elevations in the region, with farms reaching up to 2,200 meters, and its combination of fertile soils, consistent rainfall, and deep-rooted local expertise has earned it a reputation for producing some of Yirgacheffe’s most distinguished coffees.
