From 2011 to 2013, Enrique Nuñez was losing most of his plants to coffee rust, a widespread fungal disease that can effectively decimate entire growing regions. He decided to renovate, rethink, and replant using soil analysis and organic inputs. This strategy paid off, and in 2018 Enrique was the first place winner of his cooperative’s COCAFCAL (Cooperativa Cafetalera Capucas Limitada) microlot competition. The quality of his outstanding coffee is a reflection of hard work and dedication. We taste notes of red apple, watermelon and toffee.
