Kochere is a woreda (district) of the Gedeo Zone, bordered on the north by Yirgacheffe.  Coffees from this region are known for their deeply fruited character and intense floral notes. A notable characteristic of Kochere is nutritious soil that produces extremely healthy coffee trees. The smallholders that deliver coffee in Kochere are supported by their washing station partners, who provide support with training and finance.  This is another key strategy to receiving access to the best cherries.  This fully washed coffee is fermented for 24-48 hour and dried on African beds for about 7-10 days, depending on the weather.
