Gino Drippers and Brewing Class

Gino DripperIf you follow the coffee industry, you might have remembered when NotNeutral's flat-bottomed Gino Dripper debuted at the SCAA exposition last April.

It took home the 2014 Best New Product Award and many baristas including our own Erik Evenson, used it in the National Brewer's Cup competition. Now Tony's is proud to announce that we will be selling these drippers at our Coffee Bar in Seattle. They will retail for $24 + tax and the filters will retail for $10.95 + tax. Gino Drippers are in the family of pour over brewers, brewers that require you to pour over the coffee grounds with water. What makes Gino Drippers different from other pour over methods is the flat bed of the brewer and filter (as opposed to the conical shape of Chemex and Clever filters). Coffee grounds sit at the bottom of the filter and the water extracts the grounds evenly. A steady hand, an eye for uniformity, a little patience and a willingness to get better are important skills to have for this particular brewing method. The results are worth it. The cup of coffee that you can extract from the Gino Dripper is delicious, balanced, and can highlight the sweet and bright attributes of both our single origin and blended coffees.
Gino Dripper Brewing Class
If you are interested in learning more about the Gino Dripper, and brewing in general, we will be putting on a free class on how to brew with them on Saturday, Oct. 11th at noon at the Coffee Bar in Seattle. We'll brew an assortment of different coffees through the brewer, discuss some ideas behind brewing coffee using a flat-bottom dripper, and take any and all questions people have about brewing coffee. So, if you want to try some delicious coffees brewed through this surprisingly simple and elegant brewer, come on down and check it out!
