Hot Coffee Iced Coffee

HOW TO BREW HOT COFFEE IN A CHEMEX

Brew Time: 3-4 minutes
Coffee: 42 grams
Water: 640 grams or 21 fl oz at 200° F
Grind: Medium Coarse Drip Grind/Granulated Sugar/Baratza #20

What you need:

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Step 1: Place filter in top half of hourglass and rinse with hot water.
  • Step 2: Empty rinse water and add coffee. Shake Chemex to level coffee.
  • Step 3: Pour just enough water to equally wet grounds.
  • Step 4: Wait 30 seconds. Slowly pour rest of water.
  • Step 5: Once the water has completely drained, remove filter.
  • Step 6: Drink & enjoy.

HOW TO MAKE AN ICED CHEMEX

Brew Time: 3-4 minutes
Coffee: 38 grams
Brew Water: 320 grams or 11 fl oz
Ice: 320 grams
Grind: Medium Fine Drip Grind/Kosher salt/Baratza #15

What you need:

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Step 1: Place the filter in the top half of the hourglass and rinse with hot water.
  • Step 2: Empty rinse water.
  • Step 3: Place 320 grams of ice in Chemex
  • Step 4: Add coffee to the filter.
  • Step 5: Pour 60 grams of water.
  • Step 6: Wait 30 seconds. Slowly pour the remaining 260 grams of water. 
  • Step 7: Once the water has completely drained, remove the filter.
